With loud and clear voice, I stand on the stage, talking fluently as if I was born with this talent. But every 寫
time when I am on the stage, I remember the first experience of getting on stage. It was a total failure. 作
My Stage I was grade 3 in elementary school. One day, my teacher told me that she wanted me to join the speech
contest. Before that, I never thought that I would be standing on the stage, so I was frightened. Seeing my face
with terror, my teacher said she would let me practice in front of our class first and when the competition came,
I would not be so nervous. I still remember that it was a sunny afternoon when teacher decided to let me speak
in front of the whole class. When I got on the stage, my face went pale and my body was shivering with horror.
I was not able to say a word because my voice was shaking. In the laugh of my classmates, I walked down to
my seat, lowering my head down and weeping. From then on, I refused to stand on the stage, even if I did not
need to talk.
This situation had kept on going till the first year of junior high. My homeroom teacher encouraged me to
go back to the stage again. She said that if we never tried to face the problem, it would still be a problem. With
her advice, I tried not to be afraid when I was on the stage. After several practices, I started to feel at ease and
began to talk a few words. A few weeks passed and I could finally talk fluently and was not afraid anymore.
It is only a small problem in the beginning, but I was wrong in refusing to deal with it. Professor
Ben-Shahar once said that it is normal to experience failure, as long as we keep thinking optimistic and
never give up, the thing will be all right. With this faith; in the future, whenever I encounter difficulties,
I will always look on the bright side and tell myself not to give up till the last moment.
