Pu Tai’s Wings: Hello America 國二丙 游博閎
This summer, the time that I wish to linger in, the period of time that I will never forget was without doubt,
the marvelous school tour——Pu Tai’s Wings: Hello America.
After two days of meager rest we returned to school where I met my travel partners that were once
strangers but gradually became friends.
The whole trip was divided into two parts: the first week we visited the western USA and the following two
weeks we attended a local summer camp held at the University of Houston, Texas.
The spots we visited were countless. The Grand Canyon, which I consider the zenith landscape, standing on
the skywalk felt akin to waltzing in the thin fresh air. The kingdom of gambling——Las Vegas, the city that
never sleeps, a shining diamond on the lonely broad desert. In Greater Las Angeles we went to Disneyland, the
majestic wonderland for all toddlers. Universal Studio, the park that amaze people and introduce them to the
world of movies including the demented and provoking rides and the horrifying haunted house, which has been
drilled into my memory. In northern California, Yosemite is beyond the limits of my words; it is one of God’s
greatest creations. While back in Las Angeles we visit the Getty Museum, where all the flawless artworks are
placed within one of the most beautiful museum I’ve ever seen. We later went to Mann’s Chinese Theater, where
74 famous Hollywood stars leave their palm and foot prints.
亮 The University of Houston held the summer camp that we attended, therefore, we lived in the university’s
紙在 dormitory for the next two weeks. The summer camps occupied the morning times while in the afternoon we
頁
were free to attend any technology apps classes we wanted. The morning classes were filled with fun and many
上 writing strategies and poems. For example we wrote a unique poetry kind of called haiku (Japanese) which has
的
光 three lines and consists of five and seven syllables per line. Needlessly to say, the afternoon class was definitely
filled with happiness and the curiosity of discovering new aspects of the modern technology.
One day we visited the World Meditation Center and Pu Deh Meditation Center( 普 德 ), which gave us a
connection with nature and the warmth of our native nation, Taiwan. We were blessed by the masters who were
so kind to us.
The experience of the tour has transformed into my stepping stones into my future, guiding me mentally
and spiritually. It inspired me to bolster up the limits of wisdom along with my diligence. When I face turbulence
in my future life, this experience will help me overcome the catastrophic time, and I will stand victor to my old
adversary, my weakness.
